Derek Logan - Founder of Extreme Engineering

DEREK LOGAN - Founder of Extreme Engineering

Derek Logan, the founder and former President of Extreme Engineering, will host the tech sessions.

Derek has had an extensive career in the Oil and Gas Industry. Before he started Extreme Engineering in 2001, Derek was one of five designers at PosiTec who developed the world’s first retrievable mud pulse MWD tool in the 1980’s, now known as Schlumberger’s SlimPulse (Slim One). Derek then went on to co-found Ryan Energy Technologies. Under his guidance Ryan Energy designed, developed and commercialized new mud pulse, electromagnetic MWD tools, electronic drill recorders (EDR), and LWD systems.

Now the combination of Extreme Xpulse and XEM technologies with the Schlumberger PowerDrive rotary-steerable systems will provide operators with advanced technologies that can bring heightened efficiency to operations where improved well performance must be enabled by cost effective services. Despite Derek’s past accomplishments, Derek prefers to look forward while Extreme continues to develop new technologies to enhance the remote directional drilling offerings. Schedule a lunch and learn with Derek and the Extreme team!
